Cala Millor

Developed along the coast, it takes in a good part of the bay in which it is located. The most prominent attraction is the extensive beach of Cala Millor, which stretches in length nearly two miles, with a promenade that runs from the top to the bottom. There's a lot of variation in the accommodations that are offered and they are of good quality. Most of the hotels and apartments are in the first line near the sea front, with a pedestrian area behind them. Many tourists, year after year, choose one of these hotels to enjoy their holiday with their family or friends. There are also shops of all kinds and lots of cafes, bars and restaurants.

The first hotel built in 1933 , was the Eureka hotel. At that time there were only a few farm houses, used to store algae for the animals and also used as a summer resort. As everywhere else at the coast of Mallorca, during the sixties with the tourist boom, the mass construction of hotels and apartments started. Since then, private and public establishments have undergone constant improvement and embellishment.

Sports also have their place in Cala Millor with different locations to rent bikes, which are well suited to go from one place to another, as the land is flat and there are several areas closed to motorized traffic. You can play tennis, squash, football , beach volleyball, golf, etc.. There are also facilities for diving. Many of these activities can be practised in the hotels.

The beach of Cala Millor, with a length of 1750 meters and a width of 35 meters , is during the summer one of the most crowded beaches, with transparent and clean waters . Currently, the natural regeneration of the sand is problematic due to the destruction of the dune system, caused by the construction of hotels and apartments on the beach. Therefore it has been necessary to turn to the regeneration of artificial sand.
