Sports

It disposes over a sports field with a bar, destined for football, tennis, basketball, soccer, paddle, squash and also over a non-heated swimming pool.

Business

The main activity is the production of cereals, although the local production of almonds, garrofas and vegetables (melon, garlic, tomatoes, peppers, …) can not be neglected. There's also a production of wine.

There are breeders of sheep, goats, pigs and some poultry.

There are various companies that produce construction materials, as well as a large number of construction companies (houses, swimming pools, pavements and public works) .

There are several companies of agricultural processing and manufacturing of sausages (the “sobrassada “ being the star product).

There are small workshops of crafts, carpentry and metalwork, which are very prestigious and of high quality.

There are gravel quarries.

There are several rural tourist establishments.

Festivities


The festival in honour of the patron saint (who is the Virgin,after which the village is named) is celebrated on the 8
th of September.

The last Sunday of September there is a second-hand market , known as "es baratillo de's pla" .

The village is very popular for its festival “Rock'n'Rostoll”, which mixes various forms of artistic expression with local vanguard music.

It disposes over a basic health unit, dependent of the PAC of the nearby town of Sineu.

Maria de la Salud (officially and in Catalan : Maria de la Salut) is a municipality in the autonomous community of the Balearic Islands. It is located in the centre of the island of Mallorca, in the region of the Pla de Mallorca and north-west of the capital. It is bordered by the municipalities of Llubi, Santa Margarita, Ariany and Sineu.

Its parish church houses an ancient and beautiful image of the Virgen de la Salud, already known apparently, in the time of the Saracens.

It has wide streets and a market place of good design, where the markets and the festivities take place.
