centre of two, three and four stars.

boom of the past decade. According to the Official College of Architects of the
Balearic Islands, in 1996 only 5 building licenses were issued, while in 2004
the college issued 51 building licenses.

Local
Economy
Sineu, as the other villages of the Pla de Mallorca, has always had an economy
based on agriculture. In fact, the weekly market on Wednesdays and the annual
fair show the historical importance of the land in the economy of Sineu.
The village's economy has also been marked by a noteworthy industrial activity
(“menestrals "), especially in recent decades.Nowadays Sineu counts with
steel, wood, aluminum ... companies.

During many years in the twentieth century, there
was a cinema, which was converted into a disco at the end of the century,
before it was destroyed by fire. The village also has a Teleclub, in the former
locals of the third age.
Transport: Sineu has a railway connection with the railway line Palma-Manacor
of the Servicios Ferrovarios de Mallorca (SFM). The railway station of Sineu
was inaugurated on the 17th of February 1878.This contributed to the
development of commerce in a village, that so far, had been mainly
agricultural. In the year 1975, due to institutional and political reasons, the
rail line Palma-Manacor was eliminated at the point of the railway station of
Inca. In 2002, the government of the Balearic Islands, presided by the
socialist Antich, reopened the line.
The village also has a bus stop on the line Palma-Santa Margalida -Ca'n Picafort.
